CHILD Labour by Omisha Saraf

CHILDHOOD IS THE BEST PART OF LIFE. IT IS FULL OF INNOCENCE AND ENJOYMENT. BUT IN SOME SCENARIOS IT IS NOT THE CASE, SOME CHILDREN ARE BURNT BY THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THEIR FAMILIES AND SO THEY HAVE TO WORK. CHILD LABOUR BASICALLY IS A SOCIAL ISSUE IN INDIA WHERE KIDS ARE EXPLOITED BY ORGANISED AND UNORGANIZED SECTORS OF INDUSTRY.

CHILD LABOUR IS OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH WORK THAT IS BOTH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY HARMFUL FOR THE CHILD. THIS ISSUE IS QUITE PROMINENT AMONG WEAKER AND POORER SECTIONS OF SOCIETY.

MANY OWNERS ALSO ACCEPT CHILD LABOUR BECAUSE THEY ONLY NEED EMPLOYEES WITH LESS SALARY. IN MANY CASES IT CAN ALSO LEAD TO SEVERE MENTAL TRAUMA FOR CHILDREN FOR THEIR LIFETIME. CHILD LABOUR IS A BANE TO ANY COUNTRY AND A SHAMEFUL PRACTICE MORE PROMINENT IN UNDERDEVELOPED AND DEVELOPING COUNTRIES.

IT IS HIGH TIME NOW TO ERADICATE THE EVIL PRACTICE OF CHILD LABOUR FROM OUR COUNTRY AND PUNISH THE WRONGDOERS.

A PRACTICAL SOLUTION TO THIS MENACE IS TO ORGANISE AWARENESS PROGRAMS AND INTRODUCE STRINGENT LAWS TO PREVENT IT. PARENTS FROM VULNERABLE SECTIONS SHOULD ALSO BE GIVEN PROPER ADVICE ABD COUNSELING TO NOT INVOLVE THEIR CHILDREN IN THIS ACT.

MOREOVER, GOVERNMENT SHOULD IDENTIFY SUCH FAMILIES AND GIVE THEM SOCIAL SUPPORT.

CHILDREN SHOULD GET APPROPRIATE CHANCES TO GROW AND DEVELOP INSIDE THE SURROUNDINGS OF SCHOOL AND FAMILY. PEOPLE SHOULD NOT USE THEM FOR EARNINGS.
